Upon the recommendation of the Belgrade Dance Institute from Belgrade for the City of Belgrade Award in the field of Youth Creativity, Doc. Katarina Bućić, teaching associate at the Belgrade Dance Institute, and Tijana Ostojić, a first-year master’s student at the Belgrade Dance Institute, have been selected as finalists for the award for their performance of the contemporary dance piece Femine, which also serves as the Institute’s graduation performance.
The project premiered in June 2023 at the Madlenianum Opera and Theatre stage in Belgrade and the Cultural Station Barka in Novi Sad.
Femine project represents a meeting of two choreographers whose roots come from Serbia (Rita Gobi and Aleksandra Madsen).
The performance by Katarina Bućić and Tijana Ostojić represents a significant contribution to the contemporary dance scene in Serbia. This project is not only about performing contemporary dance pieces but also an attempt to establish a dialogue with younger generations and create space for contemplating contemporary dance as an artistic form. Femine project embodies a layered and multidimensional approach to contemporary dance art, distinguished by its innovation and engagement in promoting culture and arts among youth.
