Seminars and conferences
Professor Aleksandar Ilić and a classical-ballet pedagogue Lidija Pavlović gave a two-day seminar as guest lecturers on the topic Application of classical-ballet elements in different sports in December 2016 when invited by the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Niš (HYPERLINK http://www.fsfv.ni.ac.rs/).
A three-day RESEO conference on Opera, music and dance education in higher education was held at the Belgrade Dance Institute in April 2017 presented the most influential individuals in the ballet and opera fields. RESEO is the European network of national operas and ballets from 27 European countries.
In 2017 at the Belgrade Dance Institute was given a three-day seminar titled Improving of ballet teaching by comparison of two systems – Romanian and Serbian based on Vaganova technique, which was accredited by the Bureau of Education Improvement. The impleneters of this seminar were Calin Eugen Hantiu, a ballet pedagogue at the Belgrade Dance Institute, and Nina Čolanović, a classical-ballet teacher in the professional secondary Ballet School “Lujo Davičo”.
The First International Conference on ballet and dance education was held in the Kino Meeting Point in Sarajevo in November 2018 and was organised by the Association Tanzelarija in partnership with the Belgrade Dance Institute. The conference topic was Networking, knowledge and leadership – New era in ballet and dance education. Major conference lecturers from Serbia were professors Dijana Milošević and Vladimir Tomašević, PhD coming from the Belgrade Dance Institute.
In February 2018 at the Belgrade Dance Institute there was given a two-week Winter Intensive Masterclass – classical Bllet, which was run by ballet master Bahram M. Juldašev with the accompanist Ana Spremić. Winter Intensive Masterclass – classical ballet encompassed classical ballet exercises after Vaganova system with the emphasis on technical demands and their mastering, and was intended for the pupilss of primary ballet schools (3rd and 4th forms), students of secondary ballet schools (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th forms), and professional dancers.
In February 2018 at the Stage-Folk-Dance-and-Music Department of the Belgrade Dance Institute there was held the one-day First Masterclass dedicated to folk-dance choreography. In June 2019 in Sofia (Bulgaria) there was held the International Conference on Education in artistic dance and theatre, organised by the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts ‘’Kr.Sarafov’’ in partnership with ATOM Theatre, Balkan Dance Project platform and the Belgrade Dance Institute. The Belgrade Dance Institute was presented by professors Dijana Milošević and Vladimir Tomašević, PhD who were speaking about challenges in artistic dance education in the country and region.
A cycle of professional gatherings called Networking Theory and Practice was launched within the Stage-Folk-Dance-and-Music Department of the Belgrade Dance Institute, with the aim of networking achievements in theory and practice in the field of traditional folk dance at last. Key personalities with decades of experience in working with folk dance ensembles, pedagogy and stage creation were invited. In 2019, two professional meetings were held.
