The dance performance of Virgin will be performed on October 29, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. on the big stage of the Vuk Theater. Virdžina is the author’s work of Tamara Ljesar and Boban Kostić, which is also their master’s thesis on the Master’s studies in Artistic Dance at the Institute for Artistic Dance.
Virdžina is a dance performance about a sociological – cultural phenomenon. Seemingly a very simple concept, it is actually a complex product of the people of the Balkans who live among us and beyond. It may not have the same name, but it has the same effect almost all over the world. A head full of questions, few answers, and actually we all have answers, we’re just afraid to think about them. History repeats itself, and we still wonder. It’s a question of the environment, the norms of morality, the laws that someone imposes on us, restrictions and punishments. It’s never a question of love, is it? Yes, another question… Answer yourself, don’t hold back your voice. Give yourself love, because then you give it to others. And no, it’s not selfish, it’s just an answer to one of the questions.
