THE ANATOMY SEMINAR FOR DANCERS

THE ANATOMY SEMINAR FOR DANCERS

The Belgrade Dance Institute is organizing a three-month seminar entitled Anatomy for Dancers.

The seminar is intended for all dancers, artistic dance educators, ballet studio directors, and dance enthusiasts who want to learn the basics of anatomy and the functioning of the musculoskeletal system, as well as the biomechanics of dance and the possibility of injury prevention, after familiarizing themselves with the most common injuries of ballet dancers.

We invite ballet studio directors and their employees, dance studio directors and their employees, anyone involved in dance who has not completed training at the Faculty of Sport or one of the High Coaching Schools or the Belgrade Dance Institute, as well as students and professors of ballet schools who have completed basic or master’s education at the Belgrade Dance Institute, but have not had anatomy as a subject, and all ballet school teachers who have remained at the secondary vocational level or graduated from faculties where they did not have anatomy.

WORKING SCHEDULE: Once a week, in the evening (Wednesday or Thursday), for a period of 3 months (12 lectures in total), a double period will be held, so that all interested parties can gain considerable knowledge in the field of anatomy, biomechanics, and injuries in ballet, which would greatly help them in further training and experience in the field of dance and pedagogy.

DURATION OF THE SEMINAR: April, May, June 2023

The seminar is led by Tijana Malek, a graduate senior physiotherapist, currently a student-teacher collaborator, second year of the Master’s program at the Belgrade Dance Institute.
