The premiere of the series “Ringišpil”, in which the ensemble of students of the Belgrade Dance Institute and the Youth Ballet Company participate, will begin on Saturday, October 12, on Superstar Television from 9:00 p.m.
The “Ringišpil” series, which was based on the novel of the same name by Jelena Bačić Alimpić, which sold more than 220,000 copies and was translated into numerous languages, follows the rise and career of the young ballerina Ana Balint in the middle of the last century. Anna was born on a modest farm in Vojvodina and, despite all obstacles, became a world-class ballerina, reaching the stage of the Bolshoi and European fame. Her childhood was marked by the unhappy marriage of her mother from a well-to-do family who married despite her parents’ opposition to a poor man, as well as her friendship with a fellow farmer, Đorđe, who would love her to death. Her path to fame will be marked by the support of her mother, who moves to Belgrade because of Ana’s talent, and her forbidden love with journalist Sergej Pavlović.
Classical ballet and artistic dance in general rarely has the opportunity to get close to the audience on small screens, and on this occasion we congratulate the students of the Belgrade Dance Institute and the members of the Youth Ballet Company who performed all the dance numbers at a highly professional level with the participation of the ballet champion of the National Theater Jovica Begojeva.
