At the invitation of the organizers of the 35th International Festival of Modern Choreography in Vitebsk, Belarus, choreographer Jovana Ikonić is a representative of Serbia as a member of the artistic jury.
As part of the festival, which takes place from November 20 to 24 this year, in addition to Ikonićka, the best choreographic productions will be decided by Konstnin Kuzentsov from Belarus, Juan Tirado from Spain, Dmitri Pimonov from Russia, Jean Jasko from Sweden, and Alexander Mogilev from Russia.
The Festival of Modern Choreography in Vitebsk is the oldest and most respected dance forum in the CIS. Since 1987, every year, without breaks, it has been held in the second half of November. From the very beginning, the dance forum was overseen by outstanding choreographers-innovators: Evgeny Panfilov, Valentin Elizaryev, Xiao Cuhua, Vladimir Vasilyev and Radu Poklitara – who ensured a festival of the highest professional level. The five days of the festival are not only the premieres of choreographic plays featuring the best troupes of the planet, but also a competition in which young actors get the opportunity to show their talents. Within the festival, they organize exhibitions, lectures, debates, master classes; this is a school of professional skills that increases the level of choreographic culture of all those who are interested or engaged in dance.
