House of Culture in Gračanica: Ballet schools started working
The ballet school at the House of Culture in Gračanica has started working again, and the first classes were held this weekend.
This year, the school continues to work as it did before the appearance of the coronavirus. Every weekend, thirty girls divided into three age groups will practice steps on their fingertips with the help of ballet pedagogue Una Stepanović.
“We, the children and the parent, wanted the ballet, which can be seen by the number of participants. The fact that the interest is still great is gratifying, so we are continuing to socialize with our ballerinas this season and we are continuing our successful cooperation with the Belgrade Dance Institute” says for the Riznica, Snežana Petrović, coordinator of the ballet school at the House of Culture in Gračanica.
Since there is great interest in ballet in other areas as well, the plan is to restart the school in Šilovo in the local cultural center.
As they say from the House of Culture in Gračanica, this will not stop, but something more is planned.
“The ballet school has shown us that we have talented children who want to learn and progress. We also have the unreserved support of parents to launch an initiative to open a lower ballet school in Gračanica. With the help of our friends from the Belgrade Dance Institute, I believe that it will not be impossible,” says Petrović.
The ballet school in Gračanica started working in 2017. On the occasion of the World Dance Day, and for an exceptional contribution to the popularization of ballet, a year later, the school was awarded with the Terpsichore Prize. Two medals and a Grand Prix were awarded at the Ballet School at the International Olympics for Music and Dance of the Central Balkans in Belgrade.
