GUEST OF THE INSTITUTE CHOREGRAPHER MIKELE PASTORINI

Italian dancer and choreographer Michele Pastorini will be visiting the Belgrade Dance Institute from March 17 to 28. With this arrival, Pastorini begins work on the new dance production “Human Design” with the students of the Belgrade Dance Institute.

 

 

He was born in Sicily, and took his first dance steps at Teatro Massimo Vicenzo Bellini in Catania, where he later graduated from the Vicenza Bellini Academy. He started his professional career in “Belini junior company”, after which he joined “Città di Agrigento” specializing in guest performances based on folklore performances.

 

 

In 2013, he went to Dresden where he became a member of the Landesbuehnen Sachsen ensemble under the direction of Carlos Matos. He joined Croatian National Theater Ivan pl. Zajc in 2017, where after performing roles with leading world choreographers such as Masha Kolar, Mauro Bigonzetti, Giuseppe Spota, Andonis Foniadakis, Christian Lever, Mauro de Candie, Douglas Lee, he received the title of Ballet Champion.

 

 

He met the Belgrade audience in 2018 as part of the Festival of Choreographic Miniatures, during which he triumphed in his choreography “t(w)o whom”, winning the jury award, the audience award and the “Aleksandar Izrailovski” plaque for inventiveness.

 

 

He is the winner of the Audience Award of the Croatian National Theater Ivan pl. Zajc in the 2018/2019 season. for the best male ballet role of Apollo in the performance of the same name, as well as for the roles in the ballets “Serenade” and “4 boleros”.

 

 

The premiere of the dance performance “Human Design” is planned for the end of June 2025.
