A PLAY WITH MYTH premiered in Zagreb tonight
Dancing play A Play with Myth choreographed by professor Aleksandar Ilić and produced by free-dance ensemble Liberdance, the theatre Kamenjak Rajka Pavlića and the Belgrade Dance Institute is premiered on the stage of the Zagreb Dance Centre tonight, on 27th Septembre 2021 at 8 p.m.
The dance project A Play with Myth is based on the motifs of tetralogy Joseph and his brothers by German Nobel laureate Thomas Mann, as one of the most important pieces dealing with emigration at the time of the world’s greatest crisis, and it is created by the idea and libretto of Teodora Sujić.
At the time when we live again with the challenges caused by the global pandemic, choreographer Ilić sets the biblical story Joseph and his brothers in its dancing adaption in reality, by using contemporary means of mythology, psychology, philosophy, archeology, religion, and philology.
This dancing play is performed by Lara Frgačić, Silvija Musić and Dora Šesto from Croatia, and the alumni of the Belgrade Dance Institute, Natalija Trifunović and Katarina Ilijašević.
Costume designers are Katarina Radošević Galić and Snežana Arnautović Stjepanović, and the music for the play is adapted by Georg Draušnik.
