On the occasion of World Dance Day, which is traditionally celebrated on April 29th, Praznik Igre presented a gala concert dedicated to dance, the joys of dance creation, and all movement performed by the Belgrade Dance Institute students and Ballet Youth company.
On the occasion of International Dance Day, Dean Prof. Dr. Vladimir Tomasevic and H.E. Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Serbia, Basel Salah, read the World MP of Kang Sue-Jin, a ballet dancer and the director of the National Ballet of Korea.
The second act of the ballet Swan Lake will be performed by the main roles played by Nastasja Ivetić as Odette (2nd year undergraduate student at the Belgrade Dance Institute) and Ahmed Yehia as Prince Siegfried (First soloist at Cairo Opera and Ballet, and MA student at the Belgrade Dance Institute), while the role of the evil wizard Rothbart will be performed by Ognjen Vučinić (Professor of Contemporary Dance at the Belgrade Dance Institute).
The concert will be opened by the famous waltz by Tchaikovsky from the ballet Sleeping Beauty, choreographed by ballet master, pedagogue, and choreographer Amalia Mindrutiu (Romania). After that, some of the most beautiful ballet variations from famous ballets will be performed, such as the Raymonda variation from the Raymonda Ballet, the Spanish Dance from Swan Lake, and Pas de trois Odalisques from the Corsair Ballet.
The Youth Ballet Dance Company was founded in 2019 within the Belgrade Dance Institute with the aim of educating and promoting elementary and high school students in the area of Belgrade and Serbia. The head of the company is ballet master Amalia Mindrutiu (Romania), with the assistance and cooperation of ballet pedagogues Milica Bezmarević and Mila Stijak. The accompanist for the Youth Ballet Dance Company is Ana Spremić.
