The Belgrade Dance Institute organises Summer School of Folk Dance and Choreography from June 2 to 6, 2021 in Belgrade taking place at the Institute.
The contents of the Summer School of Folk Dance and Choreography is based on the original concept which includes theoretical and practical work on learning folk dances and getting familiar with the complete process from field recording and performing, preparation for teaching, to processing in the form of stage work, i.e. folk-dance choreography.
The area of Kosovsko Pomoravlje will be treated by an authentic connoisseur of traditional folk dances and customs, Dragan Antić, coming from Kosovska Kamenica.
Lectures will include practical and theoretical lectures on field research, terminology and methodology of work in folklore ensembles, processing of folk dances, choreographic vocabulary, spatial composition, choreographic composition and arranging orchestral music for folk-dance choreographies.
Lecturers are Anton Andonov, PhD (Bulgaria), Vesna Bajić Stojiljković, PhD, Velimir Agovski, Milan Bačkulja, Bojan Dimitrijević and Aleksandar Stepić.

Summer-school attendants receive a valued Certificate of the Belgrade Dance Institute with certain ECTS points. The registration fee for the Summer School in the amount of 4,500 RSD must be paid to the bank account of the Belgrade Dance Institute no later than July 1, 2021. Favorable accommodation is provided in the Hotel Yugoslavia for those attendants coming from outside Belgrade and Serbia.
