WHAT IS THE ART OF BALLET IN SARAJEVO TO US?
Prof. Aleksandar Ilić, participated in the final program of Ballet Fest Sarajevo as part of the conference What is the art of ballet today, which took place on September 30th at the Bosnian Institute – Adil Zulfikarpašić Foundation in Sarajevo.
The initiator of the conference and the director of Ballet Fest Sarajevo, Edina Papo, in addition to Aleksandar Ilić and Halid Kuborović, the ballet memoirist, asked questions about the name of the conference itself, the position of ballet artists and dancers of contemporary dance in the region, the education of dancers, repertoire policy, and long-term planning in theaters founded by the state, as well as the status of independence (freelance) dancers.
This year’s thirteenth edition of the Ballet Fest Sarajevo festival, organized by the Ballet Association, was officially opened on September 22nd with an exhibition dedicated to ballet champion Minka Kamberović, and ends on October 1st at the Sarajevo National Theater.
