AWARD FOR INNOVATION IN CHOREOGRAPHIC EXPRESSION

AWARD FOR INNOVATION IN CHOREOGRAPHIC EXPRESSION

In line with tradition, for the third consecutive year, the Faculty of Arts at the University of Pristina with a temporary seat in Kosovska Mitrovica has been hosting the Festival of Stage Movement and Choreo-Drama, conceived and initiated by Dr. Vera Obradović-Ljubinković, a regular professor. This year, the SPIK Festival includes a competitive section for choreo-dramatic achievements and a competitive section for video works involving artistic expression through dance and movement. The Festival is realized under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia.

At the III Festival of Stage Movement and Choreo-Drama held at the Faculty of Arts in Kosovska Mitrovica, 13 selected video works were presented in the competitive part of the program.

The jury comprised of:

Dr. Marija Knežević, Associate Professor, FA UMP – President; Adrijana Barsi, Master, President of the Serbian-Japanese Friendship Association Hanami from Vršac, and Nataša Gvozdović-Matović, Master, Professional Associate, FA UMP – unanimously decided to award the Award for Innovation in Choreographic Expression to the work One minute me.

The jury particularly highlights that the video work One Minute Me by the Belgrade Dance Institute, authored by Ognjen Vučinić and Associate Professor Katarina Bućić, represents a significant contribution to contemporary dance expression. The dancers’ bodies serve as the primary medium, engaging the audience through a wealth of simplified movements, all due to the excellence in concept and execution.
