Awards and Achivements
Belgrade Dance Institute students Vladimir Čubrilo, Branko Mitrović and Boris Vidaković are the winners of the Terpsichore Special Commendation in 2017.
At the XXI Festival of Choreographic Miniatures in 2017, professor Maciej Kuźmiński received the first prize, the Critics' Award and the Aleksandar Izrailovski Award. Students Đurđija Jelenković, Nastasja Ivetić and Luka Stojković were given the prestigious Encouragement Award.
The winner of the Annual Award for the best choreography of the Terazije Theatre in 2017 is Milica Cerović, a second-year student of the Master's degree at the Belgrade Dance Institute.
At the prestigious International TANZOLYMP competition in Berlin in 2018, Belgrade Dance Institute students Jovana Ikonić, Teodora Vujkov and Andjelija Jovanović won the second prize (the first one was not awarded) for the choreography of Beige and F31.6 by Jovana Ikonić.
In 2017, Belgrade Dance Institute students Katarina Bućić, Katarina Stojković, Marija Vučenović, Mila Stijak, Maja Marković and Vladimir Čubrilo were nominated for the City of Belgrade Award in the field of Art – Youth Creativity for the Nušić Triptych project.
In 2018, a second-year student at the Belgrade Dance Institute Alisa Oravec was a laureate and won the first prize for directing and choreographing the play "Peter Pan" at the Provincial Festival of Children's Theatre "3xDj" in the drama workshop "Djetvan".
Docent Aleksandar Nikolić is the winner of the letter of thanks for the exceptional contribution to the culture of the city of Jerusalem, which is awarded by Zamboki IMVAJ, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the city of Jerusalem.
A third-year student of the Choreography Department Nikola Pavlović was selected out of the 17 candidates from all over the world for the choreographic debut in the International Production of the Ljubljana Dance Theatre, which will be premiered on that theatre stage in 2020.
In 2019, a Belgrade Dance Institute graduate Djurdjija Jelenković received a special Terpsichore Commendation as a prestigious recognition that is awarded annually to artists or cultural institutions in the field of artistic dance.
Awards and commendations for the plays performed at the April Meetings 2019 were given to: a third-year undergraduate student Andjelija Jovanović – Special Commendation; teaching associate and a second-year student of the Artistic Dance Master's programme Katarina Bućić – Best Performance; a third-year undergraduate student Nikola Pavlović – Best choreography.
At the final evening of the Universal Artists Festival programme at the concert Jordan Hall in Boston, PhD Vladimir Tomašević and the artistic director of the Universal Artist Festival from Boston and the GIPAC Association Wanzhe Zhang presented the participants with awards and recognitions. Professor Aleksandar Ilić and docent Aleksandar Nikolić were greeted with standing ovations at the New England Conservatoire in Boston, where they were also awarded special recognitions.
Awards were given to young Belgrade Dance Institute choreographers at the 23rd Festival of Choreographic Miniatures (FKM in Serbian or FCM in English) organised by the Association of Ballet Artists of Serbia – the Encouragement Award was given to Katarina Ilijašević and Sandra Milošević, the Alaksandar Izrailovski Award was given to Luka Stojković, and Critics’ Award and the third prize were given to Katarina.
