The premiere of the dance performance “Trace of Movement,” choreographed by Miona Petrović, under the mentorship of Dijana Milošević, will take place tonight, May 15th, at Kult-Teatar Vuk at 7:30 PM.
The performance features Anja Stojankić, Iva Ilijevski, Sanela Žoljić, Kyra Photiou, Ryan Koh Yik Heng, and Miona Petrović.
Sound design is by Sanela Žoljić and Miona Petrović, costume by Miona Petrović, and artistic illustration by Kyra Photiou.
“Everything within us and around us is energy – a constant flow that never stops. Energy as continuous motion. Can we, and how, record this movement through dance and thereby leave a trace? For me, leaving a trace means being aware of the present moment. A movement, once performed, will never be the same. Yet, every movement leaves an imprint. As we dance, we transmit the energy and emotion of the past and present, hoping that this dance will leave a memory for the time to come. It is a desire to capture transience – to leave an imprint of the present moment through movement. Even when the body is still, it is not a complete absence of movement – it is the silence of movement awaiting its expression. Our primal need is precisely this – to leave an imprint,” states choreographer Miona Petrović.
