Filming of the Dance Project by Choreographer Aleksandar Ilić

Filming of the dance project by choreographer Aleksandar Ilić, titled “Zaboravljeno prisustvo / Povratak izvoru” (Forgotten Presence / Return to the Source), was completed yesterday at the “Youth” fountain in front of the Museum of Yugoslavia. The project will be premiered using VR technology in all cities in the region next year, as part of the European project “Dunavska plesna alijansa” (Danube Dance Alliance), which gathers partners from eight institutions across six countries in the region: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, and Bulgaria.

The film’s director is Enya Belak, a Slovenian multimedia artist whose work encompasses film directing, choreography, and other artistic forms. With a background in contemporary dance, her research focuses on the body as the primary subject. The contemporary dancers participating in the film are Katarina Bućić, Jovana Grujić, Katarina Ilijašević, and Hristina Popović.

In addition to Serbian artists, the “Danube Dance Alliance” project will also feature Ognjen Vučinić, Maša Kolar, Nik Rajšek, and Branko Mitrović. Through the language of contemporary dance, they are reviving public spaces and, in collaboration with dancers, opening new perspectives of space as a stage for performing arts to the audience.

The project is financed through the Creative Europe program of the European Union.
