CHOREOGRAPHER ALEKSANDAR ILIĆ VISITS PODGORICA
Famous Serbian and regional choreographer and ballet artist Aleksandar Ilić is currently visiting Podgorica at the invitation of Isidora Damjanović, the director of the Montenegrin Music Centre, as part of planning new artistic projects and preparing for a new dance premiere titled Mediterranean (Echoes of the Past), which is being prepared by the well-known Macedonian choreographer Sasha Evtimova and is expected to premiere at the Budva Festival in early June of this year. The performance will feature five ballerinas dancing to the music of Guitar DUO Srdjan Bulatović and Darko Nikčević.
According to Ilić, the Montenegrin ballet ensemble, whose control has been entrusted to the most professional personnel by Director Damjanović, is continuing its work following the highly successful premiere of the dance performance Tre Sorelle last May as the first dance project of the MCCG on the main stage of this institution.
In addition to the ongoing work of the ballet ensemble, Aleksandar Ilić, the current director of the Belgrade Cultural Centre, announces other levels of collaboration between these two important institutions. In April and May, the public can expect a series of seven chamber music concerts that will first be held at the Montenegrin Music Centre in Podgorica and then at the Belgrade Cultural Centre. The first concert at the Belgrade Cultural Centre is scheduled for April 26th, featuring the piano quintet of the Montenegrin Symphony Orchestra (Vujadin Krivokapić, violin, Bojan Martinović, piano, Miša Berkut, viola, Ana Zakrejšek, cello, Zoran Zakrejšek, double bass).
