AUDITION FOR ADMISSION OF BALLERINAS AND BALLET DANCERS
Montenegrin Music Center announces an audition for the admission of ballerinas and ballet dancers. The audition will take place on Saturday, November 18th, in the Ballet Hall of the Montenegrin Music Center, starting at 11 o’clock.
Since October of this year, the ballet ensemble has become an integral part of the Montenegrin Music Center, concluding a process that began two years ago under the new management of the MMC, aiming to establish a professional ballet ensemble in Montenegro, stated the institution’s managing director, Isidora Damjanović.
By holding auditions and admitting new members to the ensemble, the formal work of the Ballet Ensemble of Montenegro will commence, highlighted by Serbian choreographer Aleksandar Ilić. He directed the first dance performance, Tre Sorelle, with this ensemble on May 20th last year, based on motifs from the traditional legend of the three sisters. An adaptation of this performance is expected at the beginning of next year.
The audition will include: exercises with the barre, in the center, allegro, and pointe work, including a variation of the candidate’s choice as per the committee’s request.
The following documents need to be submitted:
- Application form
- Certified copy of the Ballet School diploma
- Copy of ID card or passport
- CV
- Portrait photographs
- Full-body ballet photographs
Submit the documentation to the Montenegrin Music Center (3rd floor, legal department) or send it via email to: andreja.sokic@mccg.me
Foreign nationals unable to attend the audition can submit video material, which will be evaluated by the audition committee. The video should include footage of an academic class and a variation along with accompanying documentation.
The deadline for applications is November 10th, 2023.
Results will be announced on the website of the Montenegrin Music Center on November 20th, 2023.
