Belgrade Dance Institute is announcing a contest for student enrollment in the first year of PhD studies in Artistic Dance and Performance.
The study program lasts three years, carries 180 ECTS credits, after which the title is obtained: Doctor of Arts – Dramatic and Audiovisual Arts.
Students who have obtained a minimum of 300 ECTS in their previous academic studies can enroll in the study program.

The entrance exam will be held on July 3, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Belgrade Dance Institute.
Entrance Exam
The ranking list of students is made on the basis of the achieved success in previous education (average grade and length of study) and the verification of knowledge, aptitudes and abilities. The type of knowledge, aptitude and ability of the candidate is determined on the basis of an interview conducted by a specially formed committee.
Candidates who apply for the study program Artistic performance and performance are required to take an entrance exam, which consists of an analysis of the candidate’s portfolio of artistic and professional works as well as an interview with the Commission.

The application deadline is June 24, 2024.
The receipt of documents is carried out until June 27, 2024 in the student service of the faculty.
The ranking list of accepted candidates will be published on July 5, 2024 on the faculty’s website.
Enrollment of candidates who have passed the entrance exam will be done from July 8 to 11, 2024 at the student service of the faculty.

PHD STUDIES IN ARTISTIC DANCE AND PERFORMANCE
The study program Artistic dance and performance is carried out during three school years and has 180 ECTS. Students who have obtained 300 ESPB or 360 ESPB in their previous academic studies can enroll in the study program.
The goals of the study program are to enable students to be educated at a high academic level in the field of artistic play and performance, as well as for qualified work in cultural institutions in the field of artistic leadership and management of artistic production. The goal of the study program is aimed at improving the knowledge and acquired artistic skills and methods at master’s academic studies, which are applied in certain scientific procedures in achieving high artistic results, and then in the processes of cultural development, such as planning public cultural activities, etc. Students study and apply modern methods and techniques of artistic research, in order to successfully prepare the doctoral dissertation provided for in the study program.
The outcome of the learning process is an educated student who possesses active artistic and theoretical knowledge, skills and abilities to perform public, collective and individual cultural and artistic activities.
ART DANCE AND PERFORMANCE is interactive in nature, includes creative workshops, media labs, encourages students to think and be creative, as well as independence in work through the application of acquired knowledge. The realization of the study program takes place through mentoring. Students collaborate directly with subject teachers, practically check acquired knowledge, have the opportunity to express individual and team creativity and develop critical thinking. Students are expected to improve and deepen their general theoretical knowledge in the field of art, as well as to possess the skills and ability for methodologically correct work on solving artistic research problems. After successfully passing exams, completing project tasks, writing and defending a doctoral thesis, students are qualified to engage in artistic work in the field of artistic games and performances.
After completing their doctoral studies, students obtain a diploma: Doctor of Arts – Dramatic and Audiovisual Arts.
